Does anyone have any ideas about getting rid of ants in the garden. there is a large ant hill in one part of the lawn and now there are ants everywhere. i don't want to use anything poisonous but this is drivng me crazy. looking for something simple but effective.

I have used grits successfully. Just sprinkle on and around(I use throughout the garden)the ant hill about 15ft out. The worker ants take back to queen, she eats and either cannot digest or blows up.

I am having a hard time getting them out othe compost heap. Patience is the key.

I have heard that used coffee grounds poured over an ant nest will get rid of the ants too.

Also Borax and boiling water is supposed to do the trick.
