I have a fairly new raspberry bed, just 3 years old. The first year they grew and yielded well but the second (last year) and this year they started out well then in July the canes started to turn brown and die. It looked as if they weren't getting enough water but they are on a watering system and so this isn't the case. Berries did start to form but then as the leaves and canes dried up so did the berries. Someone has suggested a bacteria. Has anyone had the same experience or have you heard of such a bacteria? I have now pulled them all out but would like to replant in the same bed. Do I have to remove all the old soil?
