A yucca that I planted at least 15 years ago seems to have developed a network of roots that hatch countless yuccalets year after year; many of these are given away, but some are transplanted to other locations. In 2000 and again in 2002 most of the mature plants bloomed in all their glory; in 2001, nary a bloom, yet the plants seemed healthy as always. A garden only a few blocks away, containing 2 plants had both blooming splendidly. Any explanation for the total miss in 'o1 ???

Hi Ed...looks like this is a question for the forum...right? :) The On-Line chat is different than the forum. You can click on the above area that says Live Chat on Friday night Nov 29th

6 p.m. Alberta time

8 p.m. Ontario time

9 p.m. Nova Scotia time to chat with Carla Allen, who will be the host. Carla is the owner of South Cove Nursery in Nova Scotia.

Also if you visit the home page during this time, you will see a pop up banner that will notify you of the On Line Chat that is taking place at that specific time.

I know it will take time for all to see and join in our Live Chats, but they are a great way of meeting fellow gardeners and chatting about gardening. Hope to see you!

Right ! I was surprised to find it in the Forum section. The appropriate knobs were nowhere in sight when I needed them on last night's chat, but still, came closer to connecting than on any previous attempts. We shall overcome !

Hi Ed, we'll get it sorted out...:) I sent you an email last night on this. If you can, check in on Sunday when Art is there and maybe we will have you up and chatting!

Keep trying Ed! It's been a bit weird the past few days at the start... The log in lines (at the very bottom of the page..) don't appear until the chat time arrives. If you open the page before the chat has started, the log in lines won't be there. They should appear when the chat time starts but the past two chats it's been finicky. I had to close the page and re open it to get it to appear... When I did get logged in, I didn't appear on the list of Who's on at first; I had to log out and log in again... I also noticed the clock time on the page was slow relative to mine - when the chat page finally said 8:00 and started, it was 8:07 for me - I thought initially I must have forgotten what time the chat was... so check your clock against the chat's clock and don't expect things to start until the chat clock reaches the specified time. The other thing I keep forgetting about is having to click the Submit button instead of just Enter to have your comments appear on the chat page. The box for entering your comments is at the bottom of the screen - it's only a few lines deep but, if you type more than that, it scrolls to let you enter more text. Where do you seem to be 'bombing out'?

Thanks Susan, That helps. Last night, on clicking Enter, I for the first time discovered a blank space that accepted my message, but SUBMIT was nowhere to be found and the page had no means of scrolling for it. End of non-chat ! Now, how that message slipped into the Forum section I have no idea. Tom, we need you !

Ed - the Submit button is a bit to the right of the blank space (on the bottom of the page) that accepts your message. You can scroll the text in the message is the message is more than a few lines long. The only other scroll is on the chat dialogue section if you need to read earlier parts of the chat (in which case it's easier to turn off the refresh function for a bit and then turn it on again when you're ready to proceed...)
