Presenting the Oscar Peterson Rose

The Oscar Peterson Rose is a recent release of the Canadian Artists Series honouring the special person that Mr. Peterson has been to our society. These large semi-double flowers are cream coloured in bud, have clean glossy foliage and open to a pure white with a centre of yellow stamens. It is a very good repeat bloomer and exceptionally disease resistant.

This rose, like the rest of the roses in this series, is certain to become a popular addition to many Canadian gardens and landscapes due to its outstanding beauty and cold hardiness (Zone 3).

J.C. Bakker and Sons will be supplying a number of Oscar Peterson Roses for the Canada Blooms 2016 Celebration.

Oscar Peterson was born on August 15, 1925 in Montreal, Quebec. Playing piano from a young age, he grew to become one of the foremost jazz musicians of his time. His 65 year career is highlighted by performances and recordings with many jazz greats, as well as over 300 compositions. His work has been well recognized, achieving many awards and honours, among which are eight Grammy Awards and the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award for Lifetime Achievement. Oscar Peterson passed away on December 23, 2007, but his musical legacy lives on.
