Renoir's Garden
by Derek Fell
Renoir and Monet were friends and gatherers of plants...but for different reasons. Monet used his garden and its plant collection like an artist would use paints, to create the perfect picture.

Renoir used his garden as a retreat. He found solace and tranquility here, preserving the way it was, growing his plants to draw from. This is a very thoughtful account of his life in Les Collettes for the nine years preceding his death at age 78. It was here that he was happiest.

A beautiful book - full of life in it's photographs, history and the ongoing challenge of maintenance so that we can enjoy his legacy...
