Jane Eaton Hamilton is the author of six books published in Canada and abroad and shortlisted for several literary awards, most recently a collection of short fiction called Hunger (2002).

Jane Eaton Hamilton runs the wildly successful Vancouver photo studio Jane Photo, where she photographs plants, babies and families.

Jane Eaton Hamilton is the author of six books published in Canada and abroad and shortlisted for several literary awards, most recently a collection of short fiction called Hunger (2002), which was shortlisted for the Ferro Grumley award in the US.

Her work has appeared in such places as the New York Times, Maclean's and Seventeen magazine as well as in numerous anthologies, and has won first prize in the prestigious CBC Literary Awards. She has also won the Yellow Silk fiction award, the Paragraph fiction award, the Event non-fiction award, the Prism International fiction award (twice), the Belles Lettres essay award, the This Magazine fiction award and The Canadian Poetry Chapbook Contest. Her work has appeared in The Spirit of Writing: Classic and Contemporary Essays Celebrating the Writing Life. It has also appeared in the Journey Prize Anthology and Best Canadian Short Stories. It has been cited as distinguished in the Best American Short Stories and was nominated for a Pushcart Prize.

Her work has most recently appeared in enRoute magazine, the Missouri Review and the Alaska Quarterly Review. Her garden and garden photography appeared to accompany one of her articles in Fine Gardening (October 2004).
