1pt.gif (86 bytes)Ruth Rodgers lives on a twelve acre country property just east of London, Ontario, Canada. Luckily, the property includes a four acre lake and several acres of bush, because Ruth gardens on every other available square foot!
1pt.gif (86 bytes)The gardens include a prairie border, a hot colour bed, a dry garden
with Mediterranean plants, a "New American" grass and perennial border a la Van Sweden and Oehme, a mini-orchard underplanted with spring bulbs and shade plants, and an enclosed evening garden graced by a new cedar pavilion built by her husband, Frank.
1pt.gif (86 bytes)Ruth has, until recently, been a self-taught gardener, but is currently engaged in obtaining her Ontario Diploma in Horticulture via the Independent Study program at the University of Guelph. Her paid job is as a professor of Communications and Psychology, and a Curriculum Consultant, at Fanshawe Community College in London.
1pt.gif (86 bytes)She dreams of designing and writing about gardens in her retirement.
