1pt.gif (86 bytes)Susan J. Wittrup started gardening as a small child with a trowel, a patch of dirt and a six pack of pansies in her back yard in Calgary.  Since then she has gardened in Calgary, Victoria, Wyoming, Saskatoon and countless balconies in between.
1pt.gif (86 bytes)She has had big gardens, little gardens, old gardens, vegetable gardens and flower gardens and is currently developing a brand new garden. The planning is every bit as much fun as the planting and is a wonderful way to while away the non-gardening months of October to May in Saskatoon.
Her favourite garden is the "fairy garden" that she planted in a little nook  beside her deck. It is filled with hostas, tall grass, astilbe and monkshood, all of which should entice the garden fairies to set up residence as the plants mature.
1pt.gif (86 bytes)She has written gardening articles for children and for adults as well as a  wide variety of non-gardening articles in Canada and the United States. She delights in conversations about plants and planting and loves to receive gardening related e-mails.
