Janet Davis is a freelance garden writer and horticultural photographer whose stories and images have been included in numerous books, magazines and packaging for almost two decades. Magazines featuring her work include Canadian Gardening, Canadian Living, Gardening Life, President's Choice Magazine, Chatelaine Gardens! and, in the United States, Fine Gardening and Country Living Gardener. She was principal photographer and horticultural editor for Loblaws' President's Choice Garden Guide Series and principal photographer for Gardening for Canadians for Dummies and Roses for Canadians for Dummies. Her images also appear in Sunset books and on the cover of Sierra software. The author of Water in the Garden (Penguin 1997), she was Landscape Ontario's 1995 Garden Communicator of the Year. From 1994 through 1999, she was weekly gardening columnist for the Toronto Sun and, more recently, garden magazine editor at Chapters Online. A keen photographer who enjoys shooting in her own Toronto garden and in famous and not-so-famous gardens throughout the world, she also owns her own stock photography agency.
